I woke up early on Saturday morning and headed down to the shore of Lake Michigan. It wasn't the nicest day to be visiting the lake shore, but I went with good reason. One of my favorite dog rescue organizations in the city, Project Rescue Chicago, was holding its annual Freezin' for a Reason event.
What is Freezin for a Reason? It's an event where members and supporters of the organization raise money and then jump in Lake Michigan. The lake water is a few degrees above freezing so the event lives up to its name.
I am not brave enough to jump in the lake, but I was more than happy to take photos.
Congrats to all the participants and more importantly Project Rescue. They raised a whopping $30,000 with this event. They work that they do to save dogs (mine included) is so inspiring. I cannot wait to see all of the good that will come from this money.
