Moms, man, they are the best, right? They feed us, they take care of us when we are sick and they are usually the ones making us sit and smile for pictures.
When I schedule a shoot, typically my correspondence takes place with the mom. Moms are the natural documentarians of the family so they are the ones who first think, "Man, it's time to schedule some family photos." And you know why, because without family photos, moms would never have pictures of themselves. They think to take photos, and when they get around to scheduling a shoot, they find themselves in front of a camera for once.
I know moms are always focused on me capturing pics of their kids, but I am always trying to capture moments with moms and their kids because moms, man do they ever deserve it. Moms work hard and should have photos of themselves too, flattering photos that capture their love for their children.
So to all the mommas (and grandmas) out there, I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day. And I hope your husband or kids remembered to snap some photos of you too.
And to one very special mom, my mom, thank you for being all you have been in my life. I don't know how I lucked out so much in the mom department, but man did I ever. I love you more than anything, even my cameras.
