I like nostalgia. I like looking back. I religiously kept journals for more than a decade and even though I cringe when I go back on occasion and read some entries, I still love doing it. So naturally, I love this annual post of looking back over my favorite photos from the past year.
Every year I try to improve upon the photography skills I've acquired and hope that the crop of photos I took show that I am getting better. Honestly, I think I am more proud of my 2013 photos than I have been of any other year so far. I put forth a lot of effort with my shoots this year. I spent time before each shoot mentally preparing myself better than I have before and tried some new techniques in my downtime (apologies to my dog Taylor for all the random flashing). It all paid off because my best of 2013 photos are the best of the best of that I've ever had (in my humble opinion).
If I were on top of things, this post would have been published weeks ago. But these photos stand the test of time, so it doesn't matter that I'm posting them on Jan 20 instead of the first. I tried to include at least one photo from each of my shoots, but in some cases, I couldn't share just one. So here they are in no particular order, some of my favorite photos from 2013.
Who's excited for 2014? I know I am. And to all my 2013 clients, I cannot thank you enough for choosing me to document your lives. It's an honor and a privilege that I do not take lightly. I hope to see you at least one time in the next 12 months. The rest of you too.
