This blog these past few weeks has been a little more silent than I'd like it to be. But I have good reason. I have been meeting lots of amazing families and taking lots of amazing photos. In the rush of editing and ensuring I honor my turn around times for my clients, this blog has suffered. But not today. Today, it is filled with some pretty amazing photos of one really photogenic family.
This family, I tell you. I am lucky enough to call them friends, the kinds of friends where we've been to each others weddings as well as the weddings of mutual friends. Their shoot last fall was one of my favorites of 2012, and this year they've done it again. Some of these photos are among my favorites of the year so far.
I mean, I can't even with this. I have already told Nicole (my friend, AKA the mom in these pics) in no uncertain terms that this photo needs to be hanging in her house somewhere as a 10x20 or larger. And if she doesn't then I am going to bust into her house and do it for her.
This was my first time shooting at this location, but man oh man did I love it. Nicole picked this location and she could not have done a better job. In fact, it's so good I'll be going back in a few weeks to photograph her sister's family. I am one lucky girl, because I'll probably get more photos that look like this.
Funny story about this location: On Google Maps, this beach called Lighthouse Beach but I couldn't figure out why. I couldn't see a lighthouse anywhere near it. I mean, lighthouses are usually pretty easy to spot on a map.
As I was setting up the shots above I yelled to Nicole to turn around.
Why hello beautiful lighthouse. Nice to see you.
I usually convert a few photos to black and white when I do a blog post, but I couldn't bring myself to change any of these. The colors were just too perfect. This shoot was too perfect. Nicole, your family is the best. Thanks again for giving me some really great photos to splash all over my website. I am so lucky to know you as clients and friends.
